Renowned Pakistani Qari and naat khawan Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi is well-known for his elegant recitations in both Arabic and Urdu. He began to become well-known throughout the world at an early age by emerging victorious in Qira'at tournaments, with major triumphs in Malaysia (1969), Libya (1979), Saudi Arabia (1980), and Syria (1981).
In addition to his recitation, he has presented the TV show "Sar Chashma-e-Hidayat," judged naat and qira'at competitions, and joined Radio Pakistan in the 1970s. Famous naats by Qasmi include "Allah Hu Allah Hu," "Faaslon ko Takalluf Hai Hum Se Agar," and "Zahe Muqaddar." His exceptional accomplishments in reciting the naat and Qira'at won him the Pride of Performance award in 1984.
